In the manufacturing and post-production of a garment or clothing line, it is possible to be sustainable and improve/optimize various stages.
Firstly, the energy used is renewable, primarily obtained through solar panels.
Additionally, we focus on reusing cutting scraps – what can be reused should not be wasted. Appropriate separation by composition is carried out, resulting in recycled fibers.
Regarding reuse, we can refer to the concept of upcycling. This involves the reuse/recycling of already made garments, using leftover stock, defective pieces, etc., to create new items.
Lastly, we should also mention the potential implementation of 3D modeling techniques. In summary, this is a technique that allows us to see digitally how a garment would fit on a person. Obviously, it does not replace human sensitivity or provide an aesthetic evaluation, but it detects more evident errors and defects and alerts us to details that could be overlooked during an initial assessment. In this way, numerous shipments to the client are avoided, which, in the long run, allows for cost savings and reduces the CO2 footprint derived from transportation.
